I have to say the French fries are quite tasty too, although they are not hand cut or anything. The atmosphere is of a family friendly busy tavern. Service is prompt and efficient. Prices are reasonable for this quality of food. ”

Ye Olde Ale House has delivered amazing service and product standards that have stood for decades. Service may seem abrupt at first, but just remember that you are in Philadelphia. In Philly, you are always in a hurry and you are always in a line. When in said line you will notice the impatience of the people in front and behind you. Please brush it off, it will be worth it. The Kaiser roll, hand sliced beef with meticulously crafted gravy assembled together will put your mind at ease! Have a cheesesteak, a pork sandwich, a soft pretzel or whatever you heard Philly is known for when you visit. Just make sure you get a "Beefer" at the Ale House. ”

“ We came here for lunch first time on a random Tuesday. It was VERY crowded but we managed to grab a booth. They have 5 booths and the rest are tables and at the bar seats. Our waitress was super friendly and salt of the earth. It seemed like she had been working there for a very long time - she asked us if we needed a menu. I guess a lot of the people that come in there know what they're getting - but yes we asked for one. They have A LOT of beers on tap and a very nice variety. The place is no frills and has an old time throw back vibe. Which I loved. The ambiance is what it is and you're not there for anything fancy. The prices are very reasonable. A lot of the people there seem to be regulars and just know what they're getting. It was very apparent within the first 10 minutes the most popular menu item is the roast beef sandwich. The roast beef is sliced as needed and is NOT fatty. You can either have the gravy on the sandwich or on the side. We opted for on the side since we could regulate things and sharp provolone on a Kaiser roll. We also decided to mix it up and get a turkey club on rye bread - I asked for the bacon to be VERY crispy and I was not disappointed. It did take a little bit of time for the turkey club - this is fresh sliced turkey breast (not deli turkey) so if you're in a rush - maybe not the option for you. All in all - would definitely go back. The two sandwiches we had were very yummy and the price - cannot be beat. ”
